Lately, more and more research, some of it a bit confusing, has been coming out about our intestinal health.

I have mentioned the VAGUS NERVE the other week, the one that connects the brain with major organs, including our digestive system. This explains more about the Gut-Brain, or Body-Mind connection in those with regular digestive upsets.

Then there is the research that shows that taking probiotics immediately after an antibiotic cure may not be the right option, unless they are the right kind and variety of bacterial strains.

Other scientists are talking about SIBO, or Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth, which happens when too many of the bacteria that should be in the colon, are somehow in the small intestine, causing all kinds of issues.

And now there is the practice of Fecal Matter Transplants for those with Clostridium Difficile, or C.DIFF, mostly because of too many antibiotics.

Perhaps we can make some suggestions regarding your digestive issues …at the Gesundheit! Nutrition Center on North 19th Avenue.
