Anytime someone tells me they are on a diet I cringe a little. This is because I hope they have done their homework on that specific style of eating. But I also feel respect for that person, because they have uncovered a strength in themselves they may had forgotten they have.
Mostly people go on some type of diet, because they WANT to lose weight, or they HAVE to lose weight; or because they feel sluggish and unhappy with themselves.
Whatever the reason is for you, I recommend you do your homework BEFORE you begin, and you should think about your long-term goal. Once you know your goal, you need to create a schedule, a timeline, for yourself. It doesn’t have to be complicated but it will become a great help.
I like to compare it with exercising. It would behoove someone to know WHY they want to exercise, WHAT the goal is, and HOW they want to get there before they start “Sweatin’ to the Oldies.”
Perhaps sit down with another person, who also wants to try a new diet, or a coach or trainer, and figure out the WHY’s, WHAT’s, and HOW’s.
